The Brussels Marathon is a popular annual event where many people participate and has a charitable character, as participants donate large amounts of money to various charities. This year the Cyprus Presidency will actively participate in the Brussels Marathon on Sunday, October 7 and it wants you to join!
“The Presidency wishes to actively convey its core message for a Better Europe by taking part in the Brussels Marathon and raising funds for a charitable cause”, the Deputy Minister of European Affairs of Cyprus, Ambassador Andreas D. Mavroyiannis, says on brusselsmarathon.be. He adds that “a marathon in itself is the incarnation of the Presidency's work and is also in line with our focus on promoting healthy ageing across the lifecycle”.
The Cyprus Presidency aims to gather as many participating European officials, diplomats and Brussels correspondents as possible. For every participant running for the Cyprus team, the Presidency will raise money that will be donated to European and international charities. Before the start of the Μarathon, the Cyprus Presidency is planning to host a special ceremony during which the raised amount will be donated to charities.
If you wish to participate send your name, the name of the organisation you are working for and your contact details until September 27 (Please note! Deadline is extended) to:
