Environment Council (ENVI)

The Environment Council is composed of Ministers responsible for matters specifically relating to the environment. This Council configuration meets about four times a year.  The Environment Council aims at preserving, protecting and improving the quality of the environment, protecting human health, encouraging the prudent and rational utilisation of natural resources and promoting measures at international level to deal with regional or worldwide environmental problems, in particular the fight against climate change. Τhe Environment Council also deals with international environmental issues and adopts conclusions on the positions the EU takes at international conferences.
